Meditation as a strong tool of relaxation and internal balance Sometimes I really feel regret that human body is a complicated mechanism, which consists of thousands of physical, mental and neuronal connections. That is great to be unique creature with millions of various abilities and peculiarities. But sometimes I want to be like those robots or machines, which have the Off button. You have a busy day at college, solve problems with writing essays and preparing reports or sweat over the books before an exam, than you rush to your side job and do a millions activities, which require a lot of efforts and concentration. Even feeling comfortable in the warm soft bad after a difficult day, it is sometimes impossible to turn off our head and stop thinking about vital problems. Is it familiar to you? I have been looking for my Off button for a long time. Herbal tea, physical exercises these means perform their function but revealed to be less effective than I expected. Even if the body was tired I did not managed to make my mind be clear and direct it into the positive stream. After a lot of trials and experiments my perfect remedy was found. And this remedy appeared to be a meditation. What is meditation? Meditation is a very interesting and astonishing process, which was practiced by our ancestors for thousands of years. For some time it was a little bit forgotten and now meditation gains its popularity again. Meditation is directed on optimizing your physical and mental processes and their correlations. Apparently, during the meditation a person needs to concentrate and focus his or her attention. It is necessary to manage your thoughts and direct annoying and overwhelming ideas into another stream, out of your head. Its benefits to your organism The action of meditation is exiting and very favorable for the person’s mind and body. Due to meditation, people obtain the feeling of calmness, comfort and balance. The interesting thing about meditation is that all these feelings do not end after completion of the meditation session, but they last during the whole day. So performing meditation in the morning, you will be charged with the energy and positive mindset during the whole day. As you know, mental and physical component parts of our body have strong correlation. Thus, influencing our mind with positive action, meditation impacts our physical well-being and condition. Your self-development I want to draw your attention to the fact that the sessions of meditation have not only short term effect of your feelings and emotional balance. These exercises can bring your some use within your strategic goals of self-improvement.   Thus, meditation helps by developing your self-awareness, creativity and imagination. Meditation can become your method of calming down in the stress situations and elimination of negative emotions, when you need to avoid conflicts or focus on some serous things. Meditation in the class The same way as meditation is useful for students, it is very effective for teachers. Teachers spend the most part of their day in the interpersonal communication, giving his or her energy and knowledge, and that can be very exhausting and energy-sapping. Considering the invaluable action of meditation and its use for both learning and teaching sides, some teachers practice meditation in their class. It is two-way benefit: teacher becomes more friendly and calm and students gain their concentration and attentiveness. Meditation takes only few minutes, but it is enough to settle the positive and approachable atmosphere for the lesson or even for the whole day. Besides a lot of students forget about such great thing as meditation, due to their disorderliness or active way of life, in this case in-class meditation is quite the thing. So meditation has become my secret and success factor on the way to advance and achievements of all sorts. Meditation has resulted in positive improvements within all spheres of my life and now at college I have only excellent grades. So meditate, find your balance and be happy with your educational progress and student life!

It was more like a sickening spin on the merry-go-round; it felt like I was holding on for dear life and spinning so fast my hands were loosing grip. My therapy sessions were a revolving door. I went in and came out, hoping it to be the last, but only to face another session. It all started around the tender age of 13-just getting into my teenage years. I battled with my identity. It felt like I was walking against a strong wind. I knew I was adopted ever since I understood what that meant, but I wasn't happy knowing this. I began going to therapy with my family, only to find myself angrier than a punished child. I attempted suicide twice in that few months, and finally manipulated my parents into taking me out of that therapy. For the next two years, I kept any negative feelings undercover, not opening my shell to anyone. By the beginning of my junior year in high school, I couldn't keep it in. My emotions exploded like an overheated bag of popcorn. More suicide attempts were made. I was taken to our local hospital where I was put in the psychiatric unit and diagnosed with major depression. This news hit me like a bug on a moving car's windshield. I didn't know this was a sickness. I was released and forced to start individual therapy. I became very close to my new therapist-she made me laugh and helped me to solve little problems. Although things were looking better, there were a lot of problems still hovering over me like vultures around road kill. I again tried killing myself and was sent back to the hospital. This time, I was released into an intense therapy group for teenagers. These sessions were every weekday for either four or eight hours. My self-esteem went down, and I seemed to have made more problems for myself-getting into drugs. I made it through nearly two months of this intense therapy, and came out happier and feeling less depressed. I went back to bottling up my anger and sadness in order to stay out of therapy, but a gang rape on me ripped apart the barrier. Once again, I was injuring myself and back in the hospital. I returned to the powerful group therapy with even lower self-esteem than before. Not happy with my appearance, I became anorexic. I lost a lot of weight, and began looking like a starving child from Bosnia. My therapist forced me to slowly start eating again; however, noticing the slightest weight gain led me to eat and then purposely vomit. My therapist caught on to my bulimia and began monitoring my eating before, during and after. I felt trapped. I finally realized if I didn't want to live, I would have succeeded in my suicide attempts. I gradually discovered what I had to live for, and I was sick of being labeled as depressed. I decided I wanted help. Today, I still visit a another therapist every once in a while, and I am currently getting off my medications. I finally feel free; I am no longer struggling to hold on to the slippery bars of the merry-go-round. The revolving door is now a one-way door, and I have left the building. Good-bye, depression. A History of the Overture and its Use in the Wind Band The term overture is be defined as "a piece of music of moderate length, either introducing a dramatic work or intended for concert performance" (Sadie, 1980). It may be a single or multi-movement composition preceding an opera, ballet or oratorio; a single movement prelude to a non-musical dramatic work; or a single movement concert piece detached from its original context intended to be performed alone (Peyser, 1986). The overture grew out of 17th century baroque dramatic works which began with either a French ouverture, the word from which the term is derived, or an Italian overture (Sadie, 1980). Composers such as Lully, Purcell and Handel used the French overture which is in two sections, each marked with a repeat. The French overture begins with a slow homophonic section frequently using dotted rhythms often ending on a half cadence and then moves to a faster fugal or "quasi-fugal" section which usually makes a return to the slow tempo and rhythms of the first section (Stolba, 1998). The Italian overture, or sinfonia as it was sometimes called, was written in three movements which are fast-slow-fast in order, the finale often written in a dance like character (Peyser, 1986). â€Å"Blood of a mole† tells the story of pity, self-sacrifice and trickery. You cannot always give people what they need, no matter how desperate they are. The character gives some of his own life which Is represented by blood because he felt such a compelling need to help the desperate woman. He pitied her and obviously TLD agree with her Ideas In moles' blood, or he wouldn't have tricked the women. During the story the character was going to tell her â€Å"l never had sold moles in the shop and I had never seen one in my life† but he knows that this woman anted to hear good news.The character said â€Å"l have no moles†, this reaction of the women made him feel guilty of himself and made it as if had no choice but to help her. Why do some people feel the need to be a hero? I don't believe he gave the woman his blood out of the goodness of his heart, but it was more of an attempt to console the woman in order to ease his own sense of guilt. After he concedes th at â€Å"Maybe I have some moles†, he states â€Å"l don't know why I acted like this†. The woman had no faith and no longer wanted any help.When he offers her his blood, â€Å"She did not reach for the glass bottle. She turned and quickly went toward the door†. You can see that he wants to help when he doesn't take the money she offers for his service, which he wouldn't have done If he were truly carrying mole's blood In his shop. â€Å"Then she took some money out of her pocket. ‘No. No,' I said†. This shows that he wants to help this woman even though he is not getting anything in return. â€Å"l wanted to accompany her to the corner. I offered her some water but she just ran off,† The story brings to mind the Dry. At overworks himself trying to save every patient, in the meantime his own health and life deteriorates. The story is told from first person point of view. In this way, we know exactly what the protagonist is thinking. This does limit the story in some ways, since no other opinions or observations are told , I wasn't sure what was going on with anyone else. The narrator Is the main character and the only person with a voice, other than some dialogue, throughout the story. The reader sees everything from the eyes of the rotating.There are many observations given, but when speaking of feelings, It gets scarce. There is mostly confusion or fear expressed, but through the observations, a lot of pity is conveyed. â€Å"l was scared. I could feel something evil lurking in the dark†. â€Å"L knew it by her eyes, by the timid stir of her fingers that reached out to touch me† The woman's need for moles' blood is the conflict of the story. The protagonist does not have a mole, let alone mole's blood, but he is compelled to help, comfort or insole the woman.The pity the guy has for her grows larger as he continues observe her. , â€Å"l felt bad because I couldn't help her†. It made me think a lot about being realistic on how any lives I try to touch in the future. This story really shows the best of humans. There are some people that are going to help even though they get nothing in return. This story is was well written. The dialogue was somewhat lacking, but I guess it fit's the story.
